PFAS has been linked to many adverse health effects.
PFAS are widely used long-lasting chemicals. These highly stable man-made compounds break down slowly over time. Their use is widespread and they are persistent in our environment.

When we drink water that is contaminated with PFAS it builds up in our bodies and can persist for a long time. As a result, as we are exposed to PFAS from all sources, the amount of PFAS can build up in our bodies, potentially causing health problems. The risk of negative health impacts is influenced by a number of parameters, including the amount and concentration of PFAS consumed, as well as the duration of exposure.
The health implications of PFAS exposure are still being studied and research proceeds apace. PFAS6 is regulated as a primary drinking water contaminant with a maximum contaminant level (MCL) of 20 parts per Trillion (ppt). It must be dangerous. The list of health concerns is long.
